I live in an end of terrace house with my DH and MiL. We frequently (2-3 nights a week) have my BiL and 5 year old DN stop over (it's an unconventional set up but it works with the space and the house lay out but it's a long story!)
Neighbour on our attached side recently appears to have developed a bit of a cannabis habit. S/he (not if it's the woman or her partner) appears to smoke it on their back patio and it makes our house stink, particularly, bizarrely, our downstairs hallway and our bedroom at the front of the house - I think it comes in and gets "trapped" there.
It was once a couple of weeks of ago but is becoming more frequent and we're already up to 3 times this week since Thursday. I'm pregnant and we regularly have 5 year old DN stay here and also relatively frequently have other DNs aged 3 and 6 months staying over.
Do I...
- Knock on the door and have a word tomorrow
- Send MiL (who has lived her longer but obviously isn't pregnant!) round to have a word.
- Put a passive aggressive note through the door.
I don't care what they do in their own house but I'm fed up with it coming in here.
What would you do?
