Hi all. Today my sons and I went to a friends house for tea and cake after school to celebrate her dd 10th birthday. All the other mums (a small group of 8 ) gave cards and money but they are all invited to her actual party on Saturday and my sons and I are not. I don’t normally gift unless they are attending a party but as all the others gave her gifts today instead of waiting until the party I am worrying that I should have. What do you all think x

I think if I’d known the tea party was a birthday celebration before hand I would have at least taken a card regardless of whether I was invited to the party at the weekend.

A card is enough, maybe those attending the party brought their gift to the tea instead of waiting till the weekend, specially if it was the actual birthday. Don't worry about it, the card was fine
