IS this frumpy?

I fear I may already know the answer but it is so comfy and practical, it’s a culotte jumpsuit.
I’m mid 30’s, size 12 and would wear it with flat black sandals.
It still has labels on so I can return if necessary.
Thanks!

It's really hard to say without seeing it on. Sorry.

Singlenotsingle · 12/05/2018 16:57

I can't see an overweight 50 year old wearing it so no, it's not frumpy. Might be nicer in a brighter colour though

qwertqwertyqwerty · 12/05/2018 16:58

I am mid 30s size 12ish and I like it. But depends on what for? I'd wear it day to day, or holiday. Maybe if going to something informal like a BBQ

It’s a bit boring. It would be ok to throw on, on a sunny day or on holiday to go to the beach but it’s fairly underwhelming

BrightonCalling · 12/05/2018 17:02

Awful print

ScreamingValenta · 12/05/2018 17:05

I like the print, but I'm not a fan of jumpsuits on anybody. It would be better as a maxi dress.

APermanentlyExhaustedPigeon · 12/05/2018 17:33

Well I really like it! Where’s it from?

(Wonders if she is a frump...) Confused

Happymedicatedmama · 12/05/2018 17:46

Mixed opinions! I would wear it casually day to day, playing with the kids etc.
It’s from asda £18

I’m 50 and tbh it reminds of the horrible prints we wore in the 80s. Sorry. Is it for a particular occasion, OP, or just casual wear?

Happymedicatedmama · 12/05/2018 17:53

I actually remember my mum dressing me in floral culottes for a wedding in the 80s! I never thought I’d be wearing them again!

I don't think I've seen a jumpsuit on anyone who is over 12 unless they've had model proportions. I think you need to be tall. I don't think it would look frumpy, though.

Could definitely be good as a maxi dress, so if it's very loose culottes it would look very similar.

Stillblundering · 12/05/2018 17:56

I'm early 40's, occasionally glamorous but chubby. I'd assume an older woman than me may wear it. Apologies if you're quite young! It's fairly sensible, nice enough for an informal Summer get together. Your shape, colouring, age may be the decider though? I think long dark hair would pull it off, that takes away any potential frumpiness! Plus a size 12 in any clothing is a feminine size, not too thin, not overweight.

ShopoholicIn · 13/05/2018 07:41

Hi op
I was looking at this online to buy yesterday... might order actually.
If it looks ok on then why not have it. Jumpsuit cullotes are in nowadays. But i suggest check Tesco fnf clothing as well if u have not already done so as they have some good options.

Happymedicatedmama · 13/05/2018 12:54

Well I wore it today to take the kids swimming... v fast to put on/take off 😂. I don’t love the print but I think the colours suit me. For the price I’m going to keep it. Thanks for all your thoughts

it's one of those types of dresses on the right person it'd be glamorous on the wrong person itd be dowdy and unflattering.

Stillblundering · 13/05/2018 19:51

Ooh I'm all for quickness whilst changing at the pool changing rooms. Good for you, yes it'd suit most women, not all but if you look and feel right OP, that's great!

Aeroflotgirl · 26/05/2018 09:27

Keep it and enjoy it. It would not be for me, I am 41 and size 12. But if you like it, it's up to you. My clothes woukd not be everyone's taste.

Kocerhan3 · 30/05/2018 18:28

I love these and I'm in my early 20s! Pair it with a bright casual style blazer and sandals - very chic!

KarmaStar · 30/05/2018 18:32

Clothes often are transformed(as is the wearer😊)once they are on.
I think it will look lovely, add some jewellery and some wedges and you're good to go!
Have fun Wine
