How do I deal with my neighbours dog who never ever ever stops barking?

It wakes all of us up, it barks the whole time in the garden. Even my two year old tells it to be quiet as it bothers him.
It's not neglected it just won't bloody stop barking and they leave it out for hours
I don't really get on with them they are a bit selfish with parking

What can I do?

I have the same problem, you can report it to the council and they will send you forms to document when it happens

Report them to the council repeatedly until they sort it out.

You will have to speak to them. Seriously don’t bypass the ‘asking nicely’ bit of being a neighbour.

You’ll have to find a way of doing it politely but you will have to actually talk. Even if they are the neighbours from hell. Sorry

Good luck

I would speak with them initially as it is being a noise nuisance! Just the same as music etc

Perhaps speak with the local council for advice to find out what actions they can take.

I would also keep a diary.

Are there other neighbours around that it bothers?

Good luck Smile

Report to the council.

The owners get a doggy ASBO. My friend was threatened with one, but it wasn’t her dog doing the barking.

It is neglect if it's alone for hours and barking.

monkeychickenpig · 19/04/2018 22:29

It annoys all of the neighbours and wakes up my son. It's not like we live in close confinement either.
I would say they leave the dog out too long because it clearly wants to go inside which is why it's barking
They love that dog but it's not allowed in the house all day I don't think.
I'll ask my husband to try to speak to the man as I crumble when I have to try to resolve things.
We have had issues with their kids parking as well on our road.
The thing is we are the ones who are closest to them so it's us who gets bothered the most.
Not sure how they are even able to stop the dog from barking if I am honest.
Thanks for the info re the council I'll see what I can do tomorrow

Make a note of time and duration. It's a noise nuisance.
They can stop it. Dog goes out on lead only or with them.
