Welcoming a neighbour

Hello to you all. Hope you've had a lovely day wherever you are?
Is there any etiquette around welcoming a new neighbour? What would you give as a welcome gift? A young family.

A list of useful stuff: when the trashcans get collected, etc. This was invaluable when we moved in!

When my NDNs moved in, we took round a tin of little cakes to fuel them up on moving in day.
I'd drop in a card and invite them in to meet them - if they aren't local you can then help out with where things are / bus routes / what day the bins go out / any other local knowledge.
