Kitchen colour scheme

I’m in the process of having a new kitchen installed and am now starting to thinking about decor.

The kitchen has ivory gloss units, wood worktops, and wood floor. Also having a 900mm stainless steel range cooker and hood.

See pic 1 for room plan.

I like the idea of the wallpaper in pic 2 just on the wall between the fridge freezer and far wall, so the “head” of the dining table.

And then wanted to have a teal coloured glass splash back and teal roller blinds in both windows.

The other walls I’ll be ivory to match the units.

Thoughts please!

I like it. And it would be easy to update the wallpaper if you want a change.

Thanks bixg.
I thought that, it’s pretty easy to change, my only reservation to that would be the splash back would be less easy and more costly to change if I wanted to change the colour scheme. I would love a coloured splash back but don’t know if it’s more sensible to go for a neutral coloured one.

Does anyone else have any thoughts?

I may be biased as I have had teal tiles forming a splashzone all around my kitchen for about twenty years now and still have absolutely no urge to change them. I thought it was a lovely colour then and still do!

I wouldn't go for ivory to match the units. It could look to samey. I'd pick a different pale colour instead.

Eminybob · 30/03/2018 17:23

What colour would you suggest?

I'm going to be honest - I'm not a fan of the wallpaper - the feature wallpaper wall has had its day, and I think you could do better than that design.

I'm all for colour in kitchens, though - I'd be more inclined to go for a block colour on that wall - maybe a pale version of the teal splash back, or a contrasting but complementary colour.

Thanks for your honesty. I think I need to wait until the kitchen is fitted before I can visualise how it will look.

If I stick with the wallpaper what do you think of this paint on the other walls?

I'd go for all neutral and just update colour when you so wish by changing colour of small appliances and jars, bin etc
