Is my blog too moany?

My hubby told me this week that he thought my blog was a bit moany sometimes.

I obviously disagree. It's a realistic portrayal of life as a new mum.

But is he right?

I've also been told I talk about breastfeeding too much. But it is a huge part of my life right now.

Any feedback would be appreciated!

Only read the first one. Not too moany - not remarkable though tbh. It'll be something nice for you to read back once your little one is older but I don't think many people want to read about the mundane bits of being a parent. Sorry if that sounds a bit harsh - just my take.

A blog is what you want it to be. If you want it to purely be a diary then it doesn't matter if it's moany. If it's more of a business venture you need a direction. If it is genuinely a guide to parenting I wouldn't read as I wouldn't think a random blogger has any more idea about parenting than me. If it's a diary of nice things you do, nice products you use, your own struggles and triumphs without telling me what to do then I'd read.

I am fussy though, I don't blog but have followed 'mummy blogs' on and off for many years.

Read the one about being stuck in a car. Couldn't read it all as got bored half way through. Not moany at all. Agree with another poster I don't want to read other people's mundane parenting stuff. I live it in my own life enough. Having said that it's a lovely record for you to keep and share with your child in the future. And I've never liked/ been into "mummy blogs" to me they seem smug. As if the bloggers think their insights are so amazing they need to be shared or their experiences so unique we all need to read about to them. To me the same stuff happens to all parents. Most just get in with it. So I might not be your target audience anyway.

I just had a quick look at your blog and I like it. I only read the one about getting your room back and the about me bit, but I think it is really well written and I love your blog press theme! It's not moany at all. I think women will be interested in Reading it, but men less so.

I can see what he is getting at. Maybe it's a niche target audience.

BTW when you say the stalk brought baby do you mean stork or is there a whole baby growing on plant (cabbage patch?) folklore I'm unaware of?

But her daughter is 18 now so not much about being a mummy any more, but I like her rants.

If you want it to be a business I would look at people like Edspire (home educating but talks about her young children, bereavement etc). She seems to get a lot of stuff sent to review and does collaborative posts regularly.

Crazywithtwins is well followed too.
