This probably won't happen, but if it does, WWYD?

My school was shut today. We were informed as quickly as possible after 7am, HT and H&S did the very best they could to inform parents and staff as soon as they possibly could.

However, I start work at 7am! My job is to take the calls from teachers who can't get to work, so I actually knew at 6.55 when I arrived at work and the caretakers were just confirming to HT that it wasn't viable. I was home again, by car at 7.15.

So, WWYD in the event tomorrow? I can't decide what to do! Grin

If I go to work as normal and find out its shut again, it'll be a wasted journey, but if it's open, it's all good.

If I wait until I hear that it's shut, fantastic, but if it's open I'll have a shit load of work to do because I know for sure loads of people will be late or still unable to get in and that's my problem! Grin

Balls. Damn my job. I'm gonna have to go out at the crack of sparrow shit, regardless aren't I? Grin

Yep!

Can they not call you on your mobile? Although, if that is your job and you can get to work...then I suppose that's what you're there for?

Lol! I know, hilarious isn't it? And who do I call when I'm not well, I've got the absence line phone! Grin

They could phone me at 6.45, but the decision hadn't been made then and I need to be on my way by 6.30am. I'm not that important in the grand scheme of things.

I had loads of text messages from colleagues this morning before 6am, asking me if the school was open. By the time I answered the 5th one, I told them I was looking at the same website and emails that they had access to!

Now I've decided I might walk. It's minus 4 out there at the moment and my road is churned up a bit from cars today, so the very early morning that I go out, there's potential that I'll fucked up my tyres, so walking it is.

The problem is even worse then. Leave at 6.30, arrive at 7 just as HT makes the decision and have to walk all the way back home again!

I could just not go to be honest! I have rheumatoid arthritis and my feet are really struggling this week. I could just go sick and sod everyone else! I've never taken a day of for it, but I could.... That so won't happen, I'm far too diligent and sometimes I hate myself for it! Grin
