Where should I live??? Feeling stressed!

I'm 16 weeks pregnant with DC1 and stay in a beautiful flat on the beachfront with my DP and Ddog. The landlord is a friend's relative and doesn't stay nearby. He never bothers us and has let us decorate to our heart's content and doesn't have a problem with the dog.

I love my flat as it's so close to town and I don't drive. However we are on the third floor and there is no elevator. The rent and council tax are also quite high. Statutory maternity pay wouldn't cover these costs, though by the time baby is here we will have a very small pool of savings to help cover this. DP also works evenings, so if dog needed walked in the evenings when baby is here, I would be a bit stuck, though do have family nearby who have offered to help. DP is also trying to get a few more afternoon shifts instead of evening shifts, and his manager is likely to try to help as much as he can.

Please tell me what to do!

A. Find somewhere else to rent (which will be cheaper) with a garden for the dog. However because I don't drive, will need to rely on colleagues to take me home from work. Work is very out the way with limited public transport!

B. Stay in the flat and make it work as family has offered to help with Ddog and you love your home. Get a travel system that comes apart to help manage the stairs. Hire a dog walker for evenings you are alone, etc.

Those of you who have been pregnant and lived in a flat... are 3 storeys manageable with no elevator? Am I being ridiculous even considering staying where I am? I'm just so at home here and it breaks my heart to consider leaving. Sad

PS: Rehoming dog is not an option as she is my whole world.

PPS: Sorry this is so long and thank you for reading! Thanks

Get a baby sling and then you can manage the stairs and walk the dog.

Yep sling and v light weight pushchair unless you have ground floor storage for one.

I lived in a third floor flat while I was pregnant, and to be honest the being pregnant bit was the hardest.

If you can leave your buggy downstairs somewhere then it will make life much easier. I'd stay put until your baby arrives - you may realise that you want a garden after a while, as babies aren't babies for very long.

Ahhh, thank you all so much! You're making me feel loads better about it. Smile A sling is such a simple thing I didn't even consider! Was getting myself so worked up about it!
