I know that’s Sunday is a terrible day to go but are any times better than others?
ASAP?
Nearer to closing time?

I would kill myself.

Okay, sorry - bad joke. But just no! 😱

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 25/02/2018 10:54

It's pretty random.
Hopefully the cold weather will scare the wanderers away and leave the hard core shoppers

Meandmy4 · 25/02/2018 10:57

Hang myself ! After buying copious amounts of shit candles and dime bars Wink x

HuskyMcClusky · 25/02/2018 11:02

OH, if you really must go, buy yourself a Daim frozen desert thingy!! They are amazeballs.

HuskyMcClusky · 25/02/2018 11:02

*dessert 🙄

Crazyladee · 25/02/2018 11:04

Would rather stick pins in my eyes!

ChesterFuckingDraws · 25/02/2018 11:05

Just go, accept it will be busy and noisy hell and treat yourself with diames and ice cream.

FancyNewBeesly · 25/02/2018 11:05

We always go as early as possible on a Saturday - it’s pretty quiet and just getting busy as we leave. I looked at the google data for busy times (just google your local Ikea store and it will show you) but Sundays look pretty crazy all day.

Just make sure you get a good stash of cinnamon rolls and meatballs to make it worthwhile 😂

ltk · 25/02/2018 11:06

God help you.

DandelionAndBedrock · 25/02/2018 11:07

Go now.

The only way I can get DP to go to IKEA is to bribe him with breakfast. We were there by the tensa-barrier into the first living room set (like being at the rope drop at Disney Hmm. I had warned DP to write off the whole day... we were home 2 1/2 hours after arriving, with everything we needed (including having breakfast and a 45 minute drive home).

Bubblysqueak · 25/02/2018 11:07

I went first thing Monday morning and it was empty ! Had my pick of parking spaces and a lovely potter around.

bluebell34567 · 25/02/2018 11:07

take your time there and try their meatballs from restaurant.

Hellywelly10 · 25/02/2018 11:08

It will close early today. Go now!! If it's not to far away you'll beat the peak time (mid afternoon).

SunnySeaShell · 25/02/2018 11:11

Go now! Near closing time is much worse. Panic buying sets in, queues get bigger and your fellow shoppers get even more rude & savage!!

SouthernComforts · 25/02/2018 11:12

I've been to IKEA once in my life. My "friend" suggested it would be a pleasant Saturday afternoon trip. I should have known better when I saw a mother and daughter arguing almost to the point of violence over some smashed candles in the car park.

I guard my IKEA candles more than my expensive ones because I am never going back.

Enjoy!

SouthernComforts · 25/02/2018 11:16

Oh, "friend" also told me it would take an hour, tops, to get round.

4 hours later I staggered out of the basement trying to push two trolleys whilst wearing a sombrero.

llangennith · 25/02/2018 11:20

Depends which IKEA. The Cardiff one isn’t too bad even at weekends.
Once you get there have a look around then go to the cafe. After you’ve had that break you’ll cope better with the actual shopping bit.

SoupDragon · 25/02/2018 11:22

I only ever go at opening time on a week day. I would never ever ever venture there at the weekend. Nothing is that important, surely?

EyeDrops · 25/02/2018 11:45

Afternoon is worse. Much worse. But it's ok once you're in - parking is the problem!

Good luck!

mckenzie · 25/02/2018 12:18

I got sidetracked and now it’s too late isn’t it?
I’ll hit the “I’m bored; let’s go to Ikea “ crowd.

Tomorrow evening it is then.
I’ll have a longer list by then Wink

Can you get me a toddler table and chairs whilst you're there? I've been putting off going for weeks.
