Last family holiday - where?

I am looking to book a special and memorable holiday that will probably be our last one due to serious illness.
Money isn't an issue but we're not really interested in butlers, fawning service or too much formality. We are a family of four with two kids (7and 11).

Some of the things we definitely need are....

No longer than a 4 hour plane journey

Somewhere warm

Lots of activities for kids - sports and craft etc are good

Some entertainment (no objection to a bit of cheese)

Good food

Beautiful surroundings

Enough to do at the hotel complex as we won't be able to leave much or travel around

No fighting for space or sun loungers

Any suggestions would be gratefully received. It needs to be a holiday that will hopefully provide the kids with happy memories and give us time to relax and enjoy each other.

Never been on one but would a cruise suit you all?

Crispsareafoodgroup · 22/02/2018 22:15

Yes, it might well suit us but we have never been on one before. I guess I always thought that was for retirement but I don't think it's like that at all anymore. Something to look into definitely.

Gosh, I hope you find somewhere special.

Porto loutro in Crete. Beautiful, no cars just the perfect sea and tavernas. Calm and total relaxation.

We had an amazing holiday organised by Stubborn Mule a while back. I think they tend to do stuff that's more adventurous and further afield, but they were so great that I'd consider ringing them and asking if they've got any ideas.
Otherwise, I think I'd go to the loveliest place you can find in the Canary Islands.

Costa Navarino or Sani will be great for the kids.
