Neighbour

Anyone have issues with noise from their downstairs neighbour. There seems to be a lot of people experiencing noise from upstairs but very very little experiencing noise from downstairs.

It is soooooo loud and all evening. I have spoken to them soooooo many times and it's still the same. We are still very polite to each other and I don't want to start yelling at them in frustration because I don't want it to get worse. We know being upstairs the noise from us may be louder so we don't slam doors and we don't wear shoes in the house. At times I find myself tip-toeing. We even turn down the volume of our TV after 10pm.

I don't know what else to do. I have also told the landlord but still no change. In fact, it has gotten louder since we came back from holidays. Besides asking them and the landlord again is this enough to go to the council? Has anyone else gone to the council for neighbour noise and what happened? Did it work? What did they do?

What sort of noise is it?

Sometimes everyday living noise sounds ridiculously loud because of poor soundproofing.

I can't hear any day to day goings on beside the occassional chatter and snoring. It's their kid kicking and bouncing a ball off the walls inside the house. It's usually throughout the evening till 7am.

Any noise after 11pm is not acceptable and uoure perfectly within your rights to contact the noise team from your council x

What did they say when you spoke to them about it?

Momomomomom · 01/03/2018 08:11

All they say is that their kid is playing or he is a child. I can hear some rumbles after we speak and it will stop for about 10 15 minutes and then it will start up again. It's like they're not even trying.
I never complain before midnight even though it's annoying as hell.

Anyone have experience with the council doing something about it or is it really just me submitting a complaint and they dont do anything about it?

Yep. I hear it bounce off the wall and the little bounces that comes after. Then the kid would run after it to kick it again. Every now and then he would run into something and start wailing.

Yes the council will take it seriously. Get them involved! Don't delay anymore
