Do not read if you are eating lunch!!

I got back from work at 12 to find a man trying to pull a dog away from the front of my house. All looked a bit dodgy so I hurried over only to find masses of runny dog diarrhoea all over the front of the pavement in front of my house and running into my driveway/ garden. Absolutely stinks and is everywhere.

I am normally really reserved but I have young children staying with me at the moment who play out there. I asked him when he would be coming back to clean it and to be fair to him he looked really embarrassed and said he’d be back in 5 minutes so he could put the dog away. Fine. These things happen.

I offered to give him a bucket of soapy water from my house to which he refused and said he’d definitely be back. I lingered around my car and he went into a house at the end of the street.

WIBU to go round there and ask him what he’s playing at leaving this mess on my drive? I’m so angry and I will will probably end up having to clean it myself, it’s absolutely disgusting. It’s been 2 hours!! Angry

He’s probably so embarrassed he doesn’t want to come back.

PippaRo · 21/02/2018 14:29

Tara I know, but still, have some decency!! He lives on the same street so will likely see me again.

Go knock on his door. Tell him you will report him if he won't clean it up.

I would! Someone keeps letting their dog shit outside our house. When I catch them there will be hell to pay. murder

OutyMcOutface · 21/02/2018 14:31

I would go knock. Being embarrassed is no excuse.

PhelanThePain · 21/02/2018 14:32

Go knock and tell him you need to let the children out to play so he has to clean up now.

Abra1de · 21/02/2018 14:34

How long has it been? Perhaps he’s just getting cleaning things together.

hmcAsWas · 21/02/2018 14:34

When my dog had the runs outside someone's house I knocked on various doors in the neighbourhood until I could find someone who was in - and then asked for a bucket of water. I can't think why this man refused your sensible suggestion!

Dizzybacon · 21/02/2018 14:35

As a dog owner I know how awful it is when your dog is ill and has the shits. On this occasion I would just chuck a bucket of water over it myself and move on

HuskyMcClusky · 21/02/2018 14:39

He’s being a pig.

That said, in the time you’ve taken to write this, you could have hosed it off. Since it’s a one-off, I’d do that.

PippaRo · 21/02/2018 14:45

I know I could do it myself but I really shouldn’t have to. It’s all over the pavement too!

Anyway I’ve just been round there and no one answered. Although I could hear The Dog barking Hmm

Will just have to get on with it I suppose Envy

Don't forget to deposit whatever items you're using for cleaning on their doorstep.

JediStoleMyBike · 21/02/2018 14:55

Is there anyone you can report to? He can't just leave his dog mess everywhere!!

HuskyMcClusky · 21/02/2018 14:56

Is there anyone you can report to?

Like who? The Poo Police?

C’mon.

PippaRo · 21/02/2018 15:01

Katharina excellent idea thank you!

It is kind of tricky though when your dog has unexpected diarrhoea - I've had a dog that happened to - only it was in M&S - I was training it for a charity at the time.... and M&S were wonderful about it. Blush

Be kind and just hose it down. A good deed for the day.

JediStoleMyBike · 21/02/2018 16:40

@HuskyMcClusky - you have poo police where you are?
I was thinking more dog warden. Or whoever the signs suggest you report dog fouling to.

RollTopBath · 21/02/2018 16:41

Hose it off into road. It is revolting, isn’t it.
