First Birthday Party

Starting to organise a first birthday party for DD. No idea where to start, but I guess venue would be good!

WWYD... use your own home as the venue, or hire somewhere?

Have ears some positives and negatives regarding big but would be grateful to hear opinions/experiences.

So as not to drip feed, potentially around 20 adults and 10 babies/toddlers, our house is reasonable size in terms of downstairs floor space/breakout rooms so could fit guests.

We hired somewhere as our house at the time was tiny, we had thought about a picnic but chickened out invader the weather was bad as no option to go back to ours!

Now we live somewhere a bit bigger I'd probably do it at home.

I booked somewhere thatgot
Cancelled and decided to do it at home. WORST DECISION EVER and this year I
Booked somewhere and it got cancelled so I found another soft play! Was ideal.
No mess, no constant supplying drinks xx

Thank you both!

Just read back my original post and noticed all the mistakes - I promise I have not been on the Saturday night wine! WineBlush

That's huge for a first birthday party! Will you have help to organise / run it on the day as otherwise that seems very ambitious?
Only ever had a first birthday party for DS1 and that was a couple of toddlers with their mums. DC2,3 and 4 didn't have birthday parties until they were 3 or 4. And then they were chaos! And I can honestly say I've never been to a first birthday party as a guest despite having 4 kids.

I don’t see the point of hiring out somewhere for 20 adults and 10 kids
