My bfs breath STINKS

I will mention I am pregnant so can smell everything. He brushes his teeth and has lovely teeth but my god that breath is harsh! How do I approach this with him without sounding rude?

Does he floss? Does he have regular dentist appointments for a clean/check up? If not I would suggest that you both book and go together.

Is it a new thing ie could be tonsils?
