So first time posting a thread so please be kind!
Just had a bit of drama with 3 drunken teenagers and I'm wondering if I handled it badly...
My neighbour text asking if I had seen the idiots on our drives, from peering out of the window they looked quite drunk (beer bottles on the floor) and were trying to help each other get up. I replied they looked they were going to move along and figured we could leave them to it.
Minutes after two of the drunks fell into my vehicle, which I've just spent a small fortune on. I saw red and rushed out the house and shouted at them to get away from the cars and go home, they started to move but then full of drink decided to argue back. I kept telling them to go home and sleep it off, whilst other neighbours came out and also told them to move on.
The teens started to become quite aggressive, one threw a beer bottle at our cars whilst another put his hood up and rushed towards my front door.
I lied and said you're all on CCTV lads so just go, and pretended to call the police. A neighbour across the road kept shouting at me to just go inside.
I stepped inside and decided to call the police, in the hope that they would catch up with them and take them home. Hopefully scaring them a bit too.
The police came for a chat, then had to leave as they had received other complaints about them. Returned later to say they had taken 1 home, and 2 ran off. Apparently they one they took home is well known to them!
I feel my neighbours think I made the situation worse by shouting at the drunk teens to get off my car, and have now made us targets for eggings and worse.
What would you have done?
