So my 17 year old daughter has just told me that she is sure she is gay. I think I handled the announcement ok. I told her that it didn’t change how much I love her and that I was proud of her for opening up to me. But what should I do now, I don’t want to put pressure on her by over reacting but I don’t want to do nothing and have her think I’m not taking her serious!! WWYD??

I would just leave it, she knows she can talk to you from the way you were when she told you so if when wants to talk more or introduce you to someone she knows she can. Any more talk and she may worry that you have a problem with it as you keep mentioning it.

Agree. Just leave it and treat her as normal. It shouldn't have to be a huge deal.

Proceed as normal and tease her about what girl she fancies rather than boy.

I just said that I'd rather wondered myself and wasn't remotely surprised, and assured her that her happiness was the only bit that mattered. It's been fine.
