Would you turn down a job?

Hi everyone

Bit of backstory, I've worked at the same place for many years and I'm looking to do a sideways move as I'm not keen on where I am. I had to take my current job to avoid redundancy so I wouldn't have necessarily picked it.

At the time I was offered this job, I interviewed for another but had to withdraw to take the first one as it was 24 hours before my redundancy date. (Now nearly a year ago)

The job has come back up and I already have an interview for something else. The one I was offered before is my fave but I will hear back about others potentially before I've even had an interview booked in for the other one. I know I've got an interview but not when, and my first one for another job is on Weds.

I'm confident I'll be offered the one I'm interviewing on Weds for, but would you take the first job that's also better than where I am, or decline it and hope that the second one materialises but risk having none?

Is there a nice way to ask for more time? They are all internal positions.

Sorry for long post WWYD?

Accept first one you're offered. Still interview for second one. Take that if you get it.

You accept the first job. Still try to get the second if you want it. You don't hope you get the 2nd because you might not get either!
