Am I a CF if I ask for charity donations for Dry January when I wasn't drinking anyway because I'm TTC?

I'm TTC, none of my friends know I am. Fingers crossed anytime soon! I've got a few socials in January and I'm planning on saying I'm doing 'Dry January' so no one asks any questions.

But.... would I be a complete CF to do one of those cheesey 'go fund me' pages for Dry January (sponsor money goes to a charity) without disclosing that I'm not drinking anyway because I'm TTC! Haha.

If I don't manage to conceive they'll be none the wiser. But if I do, they might think I'm a right CF! 'Sponsoring me' to not drink whilst pregnant haha

What's your thoughts?

I think asking for sponsorship for things like this is ridiculous anyway. If you want to give up drinking for a month for whatever reason, go for it but no need to ask others for money to do so.

Justhereforthepoorstories, I'm the same. I've never done one before. Half of the people on my social media are always asking for sponsorship for anything and everything and I'm always one of the first to donate. I have direct debits to a few charities (£5 a month, not much but something!). I know not everyone is like this though, I thought I could use it as an excuse to get a little bit of cash in for an animal charity or something but I guess it does just look like I'm asking for peoples cash for something I was going to do anyway!

Why not tell people you’re doing Dry January, then donate the money you would have spent on drink to your chosen charity?
