Abusive neighbour

Hi, I'm new to mumsnet but was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on dealing with an abusive neighbour. For the last few months every time my little one wakes up in the night he shouts really nasty abuse through the wall eg. Shut up you little cu#t, you little sh#t bag, bastard bastard bastard. Alot of the time this upsets my little one even more meaning he crys for longer. He dosnt cry every night only when he's unwell or teething. It's hard enough to deal with an upset baby but having abuse hurled at him through the walls is really upsetting me and I don't know what to do.

Oh Laura, that is terrible Angry some people eh! Can you not complain to landlord etc? You shouldn't have to put up with that Sad these are for you Flowers

I would try and film it if you can then take it to the council as a noise complaint/antisocial behaviour.

I'm so sorry as that is completely out of order. You must be feeling really upset,
I know I would Flowers

I meant record not film! You know what I mean... time for my bed obviously as I am too tired to talk!

Thanks for your kind words and advice. I contacted my landlord and he came round straight away. He tried to speak to my neighbour but he wouldn't open the door (what a coward!). The landlords sound proofing the nursery wall and posted a note telling him this and asking him not to shout in the meantime (he's only shouted once since). I'm so lucky to have an understanding landlord, I really don't know what other people in my situation would do.
