DF commented that people in that hospital room did not all stand up when Queen was there chatting to that injured girl, that clip from Queen's speech.. any thoughts?

Maybe they were told beforehand that they didn't need to?

I am sure everyone was well briefed in what to do!

I think it's polite to stand up and greet somebody when they come into a room - not every time they come in obviously. When visitors arrive here I always get up to greet them if somebody else has let them in, not to is basically not to show them respect.

I hope they all kneeled on the ground and cowered in deference

From memory, it didn't show her walking in, did it?

And I imagine the point of the visit was in respect of the victims, not the victims visiting the queen, as it were, and so I imagine there was an element of purpose to it.
