What presents did you find useful?

Hi,

I am putting together a gift box for a friend who is expecting in April. I wanted to fill it with useful things and also things for her. So far I’ve got things like muslins, dribble bibs and a soft toy for the baby but I’ve also got things like hand cream and chocolate for her.

What presents did you find most useful? Do you have any suggestions for other things to add?

Thank you!

Vaseline for lips as they get very dry during labour, some magazines or puzzle books in case she has to stay in hospital as it's very boring, travel size baby bath items and shampoo body wash and deodorant for her so she can put them into her hospital bag

That's lovely. Definitely important some nice bits for her. Skincare, bath bomb, moisturiser, chocolate, fancy shampoo that kind of thing.

I don't know if she's planning on using a. Funny but the funny clips in nothercare / tommee tippee were essentials in our house

*dummy for the baby I mean

I also had earth mama angel baby bottom spray for after birth that also doubles up as toner. I really liked it and have bought it as a gift in the past

Infacol, calpol, snuffle baby vapour rub

Travel mug

Snacks

Warm dressing gown - even if she already has one, she’ll need 2 so you can wash once baby sick/wee on it or when your so sleep deprived you miss you mouth and poor tea down it.

Warm socks for mum

Snack bars for munchies in the middle of the night

Offers to bring food/hold baby whilst she showers, oh and make yourself coffee (and her one) when you visit and wash up/load dishwasher and wipe the side down while you wait for the kettle to boil.

I always give a calpol plug-in vaporiser thingy. Only thing that gets my boys sleeping when full of cold!

I got snuffle babe, gripe water and infacol all a big help! Lots of nice bath products for the baby and nappies also good things (people got nappies in next size up). Also I got some really nice champneys in one hamper which was lovely as a treat for me :)

An insulated coffee cup. I didn't get one. I didn't have a hot drink for years!

Voucher for some babysitting (when she's ready).

This Vichy water spray is wonderful during labour.
