what is the done thing for Christmas? DS has a form tutor and a different teacher for every subject. Do you send a card to each teacher or not send cards? Also TA's etc . Would it be rude not to send any?

We've never done anything for secondary school. There's too many of them.

VioletCharlotte · 10/12/2017 16:04

I never bought presents for teachers at secondary school. I think that's pretty standard.

As a secondary school teacher, I don`t expect gifts. A card from pupils is always gratefully received.

Secondary teacher waves
No expectation of any gifts or cards from anyone, including my form.

I won’t be surprised if I do receive a couple of cards, but they’re likely to be handmade from students who feel especially supported by me.

Maths teachers, yes. Everyone else, no.

RestingGrinchFace · 10/12/2017 16:09

My parents always sent flowers/wine to each teacher.

OP. Not the done thing (even for maths teachers).

I think some girls will send teachers they like cards, but otherwise no. Occasionally a child will give the principal a small gift, which he will tweet, and seems genuinely chuffed about.
If I happen to email a teacher I'll wish them a merry Christmas. I

I'm a secondary teacher. I might get a few cards as my form are year 7 but that will be all. I love getting cards from them, sometimes they shove them under my door and run away or thrust them into my hand and then leg it. Teenagers are brill Grin

I get cards off some pupils. Most of my form get me an card and I get a few chocolates and bottles of wine off the pupils. I do each member of my form a bag that I fill with sweets and bits and pieces. I give them all a card.
