Car abandoned on my road.

Hmmm wwyd?

I’m not quite sure what to do or if I should keep my beak out but I’m sure I will get some good advice either way.

A car has been abandoned on my street since Saturday morning, I say abandoned because it’s parked with the arse end still hanging into the road. To me it looks like somebody has been pissed and parked but then forgotten where they have left it.

It’s not an old car either, it’s a 16 plate Audi. It’s also got NHS parking badges in the window. Should I ring 111 in case it’s been stolen and abandoned? I don’t want to look like a time wasting tosspot to the police.

So, WWYD?

Have you seen it before?
Id Totally ring the police, especially if the end of it is parked in the road - could cause an accident or something?

I’ve never seen it before and I bumped into NDN tonight and she hadn’t a clue either. I will call 111 as like you say it could cause an accident. It is pretty stuck out!

Contact the council. My friend who works for my county council is responsible for abandoned vehicles

tigerdriverII · 03/10/2017 20:55

Yes, contact the council. Not a police matter unless it's really a danger and not just annoying.

MrsEileithyia · 03/10/2017 20:57

Ok that’s a good idea! Thanks, I didn’t know councils dealt with that kind of thing. Will call them tomorrow.

I bet it's stolen. There's a big problem with audis being stolen via burglary where I live ( including mine!)

iMatter · 03/10/2017 21:19

Report to council. Have a google and you'll find how to do it.

There was a car abandoned at the bus stop where my dc get off the bus from school and the buses had started to drive right past the stop. We are v rural so the next bus stop is quite a way. I went online and the car was gone the next day.

MrsPussinBoots · 03/10/2017 21:25

Did you know you can email 111 instead of phoning? You can upload pictures too. Quicker than a phone call - if the council can’t help.

MrsEileithyia · 04/10/2017 09:02

It’s still there so I will see what the council say this morning. It’s been left like someone’s drank until they can barely see straight, drove down my road and just abandoned ship. Or someones stolen it and dumped it in a panic. I’m sure either way it will be missed as it is a beautiful car!

Barbara I’m sorry to hear about your car, it makes me so annoyed that people work hard for something lovely (such as an Audi) to have some little bastard think they’re entitled to just take it.* Fuckers they are.*

We had this about a year ago, yes phone the 101 number and let them know. They'll either contact the registered keeper and ask them to shift it or move it themselves if it's causing an obstruction. If it's parked nicely and not causing an issue they are less willing to help.
