Trying to get time off over Easter.

Bear with me on this. My mum got me a ticket to see my favourite band next year, (30th March.) So far so good, we get our holiday forms in December, I've got six months to get the time off...Oh shit, that's Good Friday! And I'll need the Saturday off as well, as the likelihood of me getting stranded at King's Cross overnight (and not being able to get to work the next morning anyway) is rather high, so I was going to book a hotel.
Where I work are absolute shits for letting people have time off that week. So my dilemma is do I try going through the proper channels or do I keep quiet and try skiving off (which was suggested by one of the ladies I work with.) Help!

Do you work in a hot cross bun factory?

I would apply for the holiday now and tell them that the date is not changeable. I might just request the Friday at this stage and hope to be able to get home - are you far from London?

Or alternatively I would read your post properly and apply in December.

Not that far, (it's about an hour to London by train from where I live) but when I saw them in 2012 I was literally on the last train home, and the gig venue this time is quite a long way from King's Cross so I would be cutting it fine. (When I saw them earlier this year I got a hotel not far from the venue, still didn't get to bed till 1am and was a zombie the next day.)

No, I work in a supermarket, who are arseholes about all kinds of things. I bet it would be easier to get the time off if I worked in a hot cross bun factory!
