Would you chuck these in the bin?

Got home from work to see them on a tree on my drive/ just off the pavement.

Asked neighbours and no one has a clue, googled it and says it might be a mark for crime or something??

If it is a mark (and I hadn't heard of that) then chuck them away immediately! I thought a chalk mark was the mark for criminals.

NC4now · 26/09/2017 19:06

Weird. I doubt they are a crime thing. That's usually shoes hung over telegraph wires by their laces, and means it's a drug dealing spot. Unless you live in the Bronx I don't think they'll be dealing in your front drive.

I'd probably put them on the nearest wall and if they are still there tomorrow, chuck them.

PossibiliTea · 26/09/2017 19:08

I've been broken into before but I know what you mean about the bronx lol they aren't thrown over the telephone line so it's fine. Just typical google isn't it!

I'll just chuck them.

Shoes hung over telegraph wires means it's a drug dealing spot?!? Really? I had No idea!

NC4now · 26/09/2017 19:13

I always thought it was an urban legend but I have seen it in areas where there are drugs gangs operating.

PossibiliTea · 26/09/2017 19:15

These have no laces Grin

They look good to me! They've fallen off someone's car or bag and been tidied away by your tree. Stick 'em somewhere more visible, so owner can reclaim them.

Ellieboolou27 · 26/09/2017 19:59

Have you checked the owner is not stuck up the tree? Grin

wizzler · 26/09/2017 20:00

Never knew that about the shoes over telegraph wires. I have led a very sheltered life obviously..

Butterymuffin · 26/09/2017 20:03

Ooh, it's like that Inside No 9 episode with Keely Hawes. Where the shoe kept reappearing outside the house.

AnyFucker · 26/09/2017 20:04

Is that really true about trainers over a telegraph wire ? Iv often wondered why anyone would throw them up there and also how on earth they managed to get them up and over ??? Is that really true about drug spot

Pipsqueak11 · 26/09/2017 20:06

weird -we have found a pair of newish looking adidas trainers in the same sort of spot at our house this week - at the front just behind the hedge .

PossibiliTea · 26/09/2017 20:08

Ellie haha that's what I said to my neighbour and genuinely looked up!!

Ooo pipsqueak that's weird. If they aren't gone by morning I will chuck them :)

We find shoes on our stoop all the time. It's usually drunks who take them off, sit with their kebab and leave them behind. I just bin them now.

AdoreDelano · 26/09/2017 20:15

What size are they? I could do with some boots like that.

AnyFucker · 26/09/2017 20:18

There's some folks over on S+B that would pay 200 quid for them

PossibiliTea · 26/09/2017 20:19

Size 8! If they fit you can have them I was going to take them to the charity shop Halo

AdoreDelano · 26/09/2017 21:54

Ugh. Too big for me unfortunately.

Hobbes8 · 26/09/2017 21:56

Sometime foxes take them when people leave them outside of their own house, although this fox must have lined them up pretty neatly, so it might not be that.

LemonadeWithACherry · 26/09/2017 21:59

Buttery that's the first thing that came to my mind too! Are they a size 9 Grin
