I've made a mistake

My SIL is a hairdresser and cuts my hair at home. She's just had a baby so I went into a salon for a cut (same chain as SIL works for, diff hairdressers). I wasn't thinking and told the hairdresser that my SIL normally does my hair. I'm worried because the hairdresser told me she is friends with my SIL's boss and now I'm worried she could be in trouble. It was just a mistake, I wasn't even thinking! What do I do?

Of course she won't be in trouble! They all work on the side.

Why would she be in trouble?

Sil can do what she likes in her spare time and she cuts your hair, that is nothing to do to with her employer. It's not like she is giving you freebies in the salon

Thanks guys. My concern is that there is something in her employment T&Cs which prevents her cutting hair outside the salon. Any hairdressers on here who know if that's a possibility?

There might be something that says they cant take all of the clients from the shop, & go self employed.

They cant tell family what to do though.

I bet all hairdressers cut family and close friends hair on the side!

If you're worried, just say that she does it for free, they can't stop her doing that I wouldn't have thought.

I don't see a problem in cutting a family members hair if you have the skills to do it, it's slightly different from poaching all the clients and running a moonlighting business on the side. I am a chef and I cook my family meals!! Grin
