Babysitter or not?

Would you leave a 15,13 and 11 year old on their own from 8pm to midnight-ish if they didn't mind? Oldest thinks she is too old for a babysitter! My husband thinks they are old enough, but i'm not so sure... we would be about 2 miles away and could get home in 15 mins.

I have a just turned 16 yo and similar to you others. We have been to the cinema a couple of miles away before he was 16. . They were glad of the peace tbh!!
Assume they have at least 1 phone to call you!!
And as long as all happy for you to go. . Then go!!

How do they get on? Do the younger ones do what the eldest says?

I would leave them but only if they were used to being left alone for a few hours. Would the 11 year old cope with getting to bed ok? My dc are 14, 12 ane 10 and can be left. They also know how to put themselves to bed and the youngest is okay with that. But we have built up this arrangement over quite a long time!

We have left them until 9.30pm a couple of times recently, but midnight is a different story!
