Help I've made a hole with ironing!!

I was ironing in a mange label and I've burnt a hole into the lining of my daughters brand new school blazer ConfusedSad

Can I get a patch to iron on it to stop it really ripping or have a ruined it and wasted all that money and made her feel scruffy on her first day at secondary.
Why do we always do things in such a rush I'm so upset with myself and fed of constant stuff to do which is how mistakes happen

If it's just the lining you haven't ruined the blazer! You can patch it neatly with fabric in a similar colour and it will look fine. In my experience, iron-on patches don't stay on - I iron them on and stitch around the edges.

I ruined my favourite trousers by pressing too hard with the iron. I thought the fabric was cotton but obviously it was synthetic and it melted . A seamstress sewed a contrasting "pocket" over the hole. Better than new.

You can't do that with a blazer but surely if the patch is on the lining it won't show. Good luck!
