Do email alerts go to people you have blocked/restricted?

I didn't log on to Facebook for a while and got several emails such as "A lot has happened on FB. You have XX notifications etc" then more specific emails such as "Joe Bloggs posted a new photo" even though I hadn't asked to be notified when Joe Bloggs posted. My question is - would the people I have blocked-but-not-blocked (ie not blocked but I set my status to Friends except X, Y, Z) get these type of emails to alert them if I change status/post photos etc?

I get a lot of spam messages like this. Beware!

If a thing you have posted is not visible to a person, then that person will not see it and certainly won't be actively informed about it.

If you do something that is visible to them (e.g. profile pictures are nearly always set to "public", so that people who are not yet your friends can find you and friend you) then they may or may not be informed about it.

No you get no notification if someone blocks you. Have been blocked and blocked a few people.
