Thank you cards

Hello, some people have given us gifts for our new baby already and the baby hasn't yet arrived. I obviously thanked them at the time of receiving the gift in person, and once baby is here I plan to send a thank you card with a picture of the baby.

However someone has asked me if the gift they gave earlier this month was ok, and I felt like perhaps they were expecting a thank you card already.

Do you think I'm being rude to wait till baby arrives before sending the cards? Confused

No, Id wait too, then everyone gets one at the same time and it looks heartfelt rather than 'get a present, give an obligatory card' type thing. And then they can all have a yummy first glance at the little one from the pic!

Ok thanks. I'm just always anxious of being rude and wanted to make sure I'm not being rude.
