I have a milk and lactose intolerence. Any protiens sugar found in cows milk and cows milk senda me aeriously ill if taken for a period of a few days. I ended up in hospital every few months and on the drip from vomiting sever abdominal cramps and dehydration and sometimes infections. I had this for two and a half
Years before finding out. Never got taken seriously as they could never find anything wrong git told to eat wich made it worse when i was ill and i vomited each time. When i came to hospital everytime i had to explain again i couldnt eat but to be made to and vomit again. Only after a few days of not eating would i get well. Eventually just before christmas i found i have a milk and lactoae allergy. I got given a peracription for an anal pessary when i was pregnant wich contained lactoae from this male doctor. We argued over phone as i was worried being pregnant and didnt want to end up in hospital or in pain but he said it only contained a little lactose and wont do me harm. It upset me that i had to fight and hormones etc but i eventually got one without lactose. I have had my child and for some months got a lumo in my throat. Im on levothyroxine for my thryroid and it contains lactose wich i was unaware of and get fullness alot. So i recently went back to my doctors to mention this but yet again got told it contains only little amount of lactose.... i said i was bad with any... my perscription didnt het change to one without lactose even though i will be on this for life... any how he perscribed me medication for my ibs instead which contains lactose!.... :( im just sad im not being taken seriously. I asked for a dietition from this same doctor a while ago but got refused.

Cows milk protein intolerance and lactose intolerance are two different things, which do you mean and how was it diagnosed?

MoaningYoniAgain · 04/08/2017 00:06

And you would be best to report your post and request it's moved to general health

Do you have a lactose intolerance or a dairy allergy? Two different things. Lactose has no protein so no allergic reaction. Cross intolerance is inabiliy to break down thhe sugars. If you clarify what you have the doctors may be able to help. I'm a little confused myself, at this point

I've reported it for you, OP, but MNHQ will need confirmation from you that you want it moved. In the blue box above your post, there is your username and the date and time on the left; on the right are three underlined things - click on "Report" and say in the box you'll see that you want this thread to be moved. I'd recommend General Health as the best topic.

In my opinion you have too options. Kind of.
Ask for second opinion. You entitle to. It might be another doctor from the surgery or a specialists. In both cases insist to be send to specialist.
Get another doctor and change forever if you like that doctor.
