So I bought a new microwave today. Had DS in the car seat in the trolley with a car seat bit so microwave balanced behind it. Fairly stupid really but felt secure unless I dropped down a kerb. However coming out of the supermarket you bump over an edge where the flooring changes and it fell onto the floor Sad it's boxed securely with polystyrene around but since I'm Mrs anxious at the moment (DS is only 4 weeks old) I'm convinced I'm going to irradiate all of us if I use it ShockHmm

I assume I'm being ridiculous and should just unpack it and shut up

Should be ok if there was plenty of packing. It's probably been bumped around Lorraine's and warehouses anyway. Unpack it and try it out?

Snort. I don't know who Lorraine is, I meant lorries.

Unless there is a hole or a crack then it will be fine. Check it over to see if you have damaged it including the door seals but if it's in polystyrene it's unlikely.

Congrats on DS!

It will be fine, if you want to set you mind at rest test it.

Put a mug of water in it, turn it on for a couple minutes with a wet tea towel draped over it. If the tea towel remains cold it's fine. If it's hot then it's broken and leaking radiation.
