WWYD - flowers delivery

I'm looking for your advice and what you would do next (if anything) in relation to a flower delivery that I had organised recently.

I ordered an arrangement of flowers to be delivered on Saturday as it was a significant birthday for a relative. I couldn't deliver a gift/present/flowers myself so I did it through the internet based on a picture that is on a very well known flower delivery company website.

Issue 1 - they did get delivered to the venue on Saturday but only got to the birthday girl today (so I have an issue with why it took so long for the flowers to get to her but that is entirely to do with the venue than the florist),

Issue 2 - this is where you guys come in. I've attached two pictures. One of them is the arrangement that I thought I ordered. The second is what was delivered.
What do you think about what was delivered?
I'm not a florist so I'm not sure they even contain the same flowers, can someone clarify what stems they are seeing in the second image please?

What would you do, if anything about what was delivered? I am disappointed that they don't resemble the arrangement that I thought I had ordered.

They don't look the same to me. I wouldn't be surprised if florists had disclaimers though saying that they may have to swap in flowers without notice - precisely to avoid complaints!

MackerelOfFact · 17/07/2017 20:02

I'm not a florist but both arrangements look like they contain roses, gerberas and freesias(?), with the latter being white instead of pink.

Also they have been taken out of the package and put in a vase which will have affected the arrangement.

RoganJosh · 17/07/2017 20:04

Your photo is possibly one flower short, but it could be hiding. I think it's just the colour swap that's different really.

Those are the same flowers but could be a rose short? Looks to me like the bouquet is hand-tied and the recipient untied it and doesn't know how to arrange flowers I'm afraid.

WhatchaMaCalllit · 17/07/2017 20:18

I meant to say that the delivery included the vase. They weren't sent as a handtied arrangement.

They look like the flowers you've ordered tbh. I wouldn't expect them to look exactly like the photo just as nothing by these days looks exactly like the online picture.
As for them not being received on time I'd ask the venue why not.

SolomanDaisy · 17/07/2017 20:32

They're the same flowers, but the freesias are a different colour and don't match the other flowers. It's not as nice because of that, but probably fits the description.

7to25 · 17/07/2017 20:33

The difference is the colour of the alstroemerias. Instead of pink they are white bit it gives a very different appearance to the bouquet.

FluffyWhiteTowels · 17/07/2017 20:34

Looks like they're still in the cardboard delivery bag so you can't see the actual vase and also may not be sitting correctly if still in delivery box.

MaidenMotherCrone · 17/07/2017 20:40

They are the same flowers the only difference is the Alstroemerias ( they are not Freesias) are a different colour.

The flowers delivered are not very well arranged but it's a poor picture to try and compare the two. A top shot would give a better view.

Florist hat on, they look a poor attempt. Interflora? Next time I'd phone a Florist in the area the recipient lives and order that way.

WhatchaMaCalllit · 18/07/2017 07:48

Thanks everyone for your comments.

I think that if a flower had to be substituted, it should have kept to the same colour scheme as the rest of the bouquet as the different alstromerias does make the bouquet look different.

Thanks though for the feedback. I wont take it any further but I also wont use Interflora again!

I use Moonpig. The receivers have never been disappointed!

kel1234 · 18/07/2017 08:54

Funky pigeon are brilliant for flowers.
I find moonpig terrible.

BusterTheBulldog · 18/07/2017 08:58

Bloom and wild also fab-you obviously have to arrange them yourself though!

SleepFreeZone · 18/07/2017 08:58

I really like interflora over other (cheaper) flower suppliers. They use local florists so the arrangements tend to be more professionally put together and fresher as they've had less time in transport.

The arrangement you've photographed does look a little sad but I've had far worse delivered.

Gowgirl · 22/07/2017 17:31

I use bloom and wild always lovely and in bud

hollyisalovelyname · 22/07/2017 20:24

The flowers are the same in both pictures.
The alstroemerias are a different colour and have opened more in the non vase picture ( I am on the Mumsnet app).
The roses and the gerberas are the same colour in both pictures
