If you could retrain for any job and money, location, childcare etc etc was all taken care of, what would you do?
It looks like I'm being made redundant so I'm trying to use the opportunity to really think about where I want to go but I've no idea!

I have absolutey no idea. I'm in a similar situation, I closed down my business last year, and have no idea at all of what I want to do now!

It's a bit frustrating isn't it! It's an opportunity but what to do with it!
Just to clarify I do need to think about money, location, childcare. :) I just wanted to hear all the possibilities.

I worked in a bank and always knew I wanted something more worthwhile. I retrained as a nurse and I got the worthwhile bit by the shed load. It's hard work but it was exactly right for me.

I'd love to be a Paramedic, but I earn more now than I would for less hours so it doesn't really make sense

I am retraining to be a primary school teacher (hopefully headteacher eventually) while I take time off work in the early years. I am now half way through my degree (through OU) and plan to do an unpaid teacher training position once I finish to make me a fully qualified teacher. It will be less money than I would have earned doing what I was doing but the trade off for family life is going to be amazing.
