I tried to turn one into a nursery but the stock market crashed 2008

I woulld not. You are going to have building noise and then a continuous stream of tenants next door.

Would you have to convert yours?

ginorwine · 05/07/2017 09:31

No it's beautifully done
Stone floors
Funky grey floor to ceiling windows
State art gas woodburner
It like art gallery !

It'll be quite a dirty, noisy art gallery next to a large building site

Depends on a few things. Is it actually attached to the derelict building or separate? What's your outdoor space/parking like, could these be compromised by the development? Are the plans for the development finalised?

If u imagine a shoe box shape with the shorter sides facing you
.. you walk down an alley as it is tucked behind other buildings

So looking down at the frount is a garden overlooked by flats - back of -which are in a big house which faces main road . Then the house with a side return , then back house is a yard .
The vertical walls belong to the house left and right
The wall that is the derelict building is attatched to those two walls and this wall will be knocked down ( replaced by wood fence or in best case senerio oart of it retained )
So basically the house is tucked away in its own little courtyard but the end wall will be removed . I wd send pic but I don't know how do on mumsnet !
