Builders noise at this hour!

I'm in a foul rage The next door neighbours have been getting some work done on the outside of their house for a few weeks now. On a few evenings the builders (family friends I think) have worked late and made a bit of noise but not too bad. Tonight though they are out there mixing concrete and throwing stuff around and generally making a racket It's gone blinking 9 p.m. and there are loads of young families here with kids in bed (or not now all this noise is going on). DH reckons we shouldn't say anything as we've not objected on other evenings, but I think we should as it's much later and much more noisy than any other time. What would you do?

I'd go out and politely ask them to stop.

It's too late for noisy building work.

Thanks, if they start up again tonight I am going out to ask them to stop. I've had a chat with DH and he agrees so we'll see what happens

Have a polite word with the neighbour's and agree a reasonable cut off time for noisy work if they absolutely must work late. Ask them to relate that to their builders.
