A Hotpoint drier was faulty which led to a tower block fire in London in 2016; now the Grenfell tower fire was caused by a Hotpoint fridge freezer. As luck would have it, I have BOTH their condenser drier AND the fridge that seems to have caused the fires. I emailed CEO and a few others, got email back from his office telling me they could 'offer me' replacement drier for £99 so I wrote back saying it's disgusting, after all, I have already agreed a price, paid it, and now am being told not to use product I have paid for! Have emailed my MP asking her to support MP Andy Slaughters request to recall All those fridge-freezers, esp given that HP claiming the number in households currently is low...if that is the case they should be able to recall and replace/refund. While I can switch off drier and not use it etc, not so easy with fridge freezer with children etc. Cannot afford to just throw it out without replacement. Feel VERY angry with HP for not doing the right thing. Any one know who else I could contact? Feel like a sitting duck as have registered my details with HP and basically been told to now wait until they can offer further advise on the FF...
