Instagram Likes

Hello bloggers!
I didn't know who to ask or where to write this but it occurred to me MN might know! I've been following about 4 bloggers who's engagement on their Instagram has really gone down. What does this mean? Have they bought their followers? I'm not sure if it would bother me but I'd just really like to know.
Any one got any info?

I've noticed this too, both with people I follow and with my own feed (to my frustration). I think it has something to do with the algorithm Instagram now uses (which it has taken from its owner Facebook), which tries to get people to pay to 'boost' their posts. When I look at my page's insights, although I have around 8,000 followers (all organic, not paid for), my pictures only actually are seen (appear in the feed) of about a third of them, which seems rather odd. It's all a bit of a mystery, I'll give you that!
