Present for a colleague- evening only invite

I have been invited to attend evening only part of a colleagues wedding with DP. Very thoughtful to be given invite as I have only just started with the company. All others in team been invited to full day as they've all worked together much longer.

Everyone else received a wedding list card with their invite but I didn't. I managed to get hold of the details but most items no longer available. So I thought that buying 2 of these mugs might be a nice option- here

The couple are quite alternative and have lots of tattoos etc, so thought might be nice and original? Anyway there's also a collection at work too.

Would it be best to buy the above and not give to work collection, buy above and also give to work collection or just give to work collection?

Those mugs are great and could be perfect and but then again they might not be- taste is subjective and all that. I always feel a nice bottle of champagne is the way to go in these situations.

Thank you. Someone else also recommended champagne but on one of the wedding etiquette sites it suggested that can leave the couple with loads of champagne.....not that, that is a bad thing?! 👍🏼

If I can't think of anything else I always get a bottle of champagne and two champagne glasses (boxed nice ones - but from TK Maxx so not too expensive). I would also put a small amount into the work collection - but not sure if you need to? The mugs are nice - but not cheap though!

I should say I usually get a nice half bottle of rose champagne - so they can drink together and not waste any!

Very subjective taste, I thobk they're hideous!

Agree with champagne or similar

Just be sure they drink .
Not everyone does, even champagne.
I have lost count the number of times we have been given it and we tend to let DD take to one of her friends who does . DD does not drink either.
If all else fails gift vouchers are useful.
