Hi, my sons dad isn't on his birth certificate as DS needed medicine and ex couldn't make the immediate appointment, basically he sees DS once a week for 1 hour (his choice) I've been fair and open about when he can see DS he doesn't provide in any way never texts or calls to ask, I'm wondering if there's anything I can do in the misfortune I'd to die to say that I'd like DS to go to my mum/sister and of course EX to visit and see DS as and when he wants to.... it actually upsets me so much to think if I'd to die my DS could be taken away and none of my family would see him again!

Make a will. Provide for guardianship in that.

Yes, he could contest it, but it's not a given that he'd win given the current level of contact.
