My wife was sent a letter requesting an interview with her regarding pension credit: We then had a home visit from an officer, checking we are getting the rite amount. It allwent well, then at the last moment they mentioned it had flagged up, I (herhusband) had either a lump sum or a pension from an agency I worked for in 2008. (I worked for them for 6 weeks). They never offered a private pension or a lump sum at any time. where are these people getting their info from. I have since contacted the agency who told me they didn't offer pension until 2013! I cannot understand why this has suddenly come up.
I contacted the agency in question;
This was their reply:
Hi, we have spoken with our Payroll team who unfortunately can seen no lump sum payment made via to you on the system, and our pension scheme came into place in 2013. Is there anything the DWP can send us so they can investigate the matter further? Thank you,
So:
My point is this, the letter said it was a random selection review: However: It was addressed to my wife not to me. I'm the one who receives the Pension Credit. They must have been hoping that my wife would be alone. If she had been asked the questions about the agency, she wouldn't have known anything.
This is very disturbing, especially as the letter stated clear warnings about having the benefit stopped and money paid back!
We, have done nothing wrong. I then had to drive about 20 odd miles just to show my local jobcentre and get the payslips copied. I offered to do it at the interview at the time, he refused, yeh rite!
This is obviously the lengths they are prepared to go, to get a result. Therefore can u please pass on this info, people need to know!
Is anyone else aware of this ploy, by DWP...
