Splitting restaurant bill when with wider family

I feel it's a struggle to go out with my wider family as my sister always seems to expect my dad to pay for everyone and he often does. Last time it was about £23 per head and she put in £30 for 2 of them leaving my dad and I to split the remaining - was embarrassing and puts me off family meals. I don't think he should have to pay for everyone as he retired some years ago and although comfortable isn't rich. Not sure how to move forwards as it was a meal for my daughter but we couldn't afford to pay for all, equally we oils the want to sit adding up every penny - does anyone else have this sort of problem ?

Each pay for their own, and be upfront about it before you go. Then no one feels grumpy because you had a pudding and they didn't.
