Sister is due in the next few weeks... What to buy her/what to do?

My sister is pregnant with her first and is due in the next few weeks. She's a very, very organised person so will have likely thought of all of the useful presents but I'm not sure what to get as a present for just her. She's worried about breastfeeding so no spa days, massages etc. I'm also a bit skint but want to do something special!

Also, what kind of things can I do to support her post-birth? She has invited me up to help a few weeks after the baby arrives, so aside from the usual cleaning, cooking, watching baby whilst she showers/sleeps are there any other nice things I could do?

Are you crazy. The fact that you will be there and helping will be the best present ever. I would have killed for visitirs who helped not sit on arses so I am very jealous

Cook
Buy fresh food, go to her house and cook twice what you need
Put one meal in the freezer
Cut one meal up for her, so she can eat it while holding the baby

Take the baby out for walks to give your sister some breathing space

Take your DSis out for adult conversation/coffee/cinema whilst her DP babysits

Go to parent&baby groups with her, so she doesn't feel daunted and has the confidence to go back on her own - these groups are where I made some of my best friends (did NCT, didn't really make friends) - maybe you could find some groups for you both to try? Church halls, village halls, community centres, sports centres, library, health visitor are all good sources of info. Does her area still have Surestart?

Voucher from local take away for the too tired to cook evening.
Nice bath stuff.
Fluffy socks. Or a baggy soft / light fleece long sleeved top that she can feel comfy but look nice in.
But helping her is the best gift you're giving her.

I like the idea of going to baby groups with her as there will probably be a lot during the day which her DP won't be able to go to when he isn't on Paternity. She did make quite a few friends from NCT so maybe going with her to meet up with them for coffee and generally giving her a hand just to get out the door would be good!
