I have had a call tonight from my car insurance company. Someone is trying to claim from me saying I hit them on the 22nd December 2015 I have no memory of hitting anything and there is no damage to my car. Is there an expiry date on a claim?

Surely they would need some proof other than just saying you did it? And why has it taken them 10 months to claim?

Was it really your car insurance or have you just been scammed?

IhatchedaSnorlax · 15/10/2016 00:08

Sounds like a scam to me - either whoever called you or the claimants.

My insurance company wouldn't even say where it was. I know it's not a scam as I my car is covered by the motability scheme and I have checked the number.

If defo not a scam then just deny. If other party provides something like photographic evidence proving your car hit theirs then you'll have to accept it, if not you don't need to worry

Cheers I know i didn't hit nothing there is no damage on my car. The motability insurance people could not tell me any details apart from the date.
