Birthday party dilemma

DS' first birthday is fast approaching. Planning on inviting family & close friends to a small gathering. One hitch. My brother's partner is a histrionic narcissist & has ruined several recent family events with her rudeness. I would love my brother & DNs to be there & I know he is having a hard time at home & needs support. Wwyd?

You have a gathering with close family and invite her or you don't and don't, but you cannot miss her out without it causing a massive fallout.

I just wouldn't bother having a party but I accept I am miserable about children's birthdays under the age of 4 Grin

It would be terribly rude of you to invite them without her.

Although she sounds like a nightmare... don't suppose you could somehow find out a date that she is busy already with something and plan the party for then?
