Joint party

I'm planning a joint birthday party and christening for my two children. It will be a christening followed by an after party where I will also invite my children's friends to just the party bit. Should I inform the parents of those I'm inviting to just the party that's it's also joint with christening? I'm just thinking if I turned up to something like that I'd wonder why most people there were dressed up smart I.e. From the christening. Or am I over thinking this?

Just explain when they are there / or if you know talk about the event in passing. I can't think of a way to make it sound correct on a invite. You could get a banner, to decorate at the party to make clear the casino is a joint celebration.

Get a banner / balloons printed, to decorate, and to show this is a joint celebration. Talk about the christening as well as the birthday.

Yes this is the problem I've had iceberg racking my brain working out how to word it. In no way would I want any sort of gift towards the christening I'm just being a bit cheeky and combining these parties! I can't think of any way to word it without it seeming like I'm after a christening gift as well!

Sorry for double post & typo. Party not casino!?! (Strange auto correct)

Thanks, yes was thinking banners and decorations for both should make it obvious hopefully!

I would mention nothing on invite. Just decorate room to show you are combining the events.
