Daughter leaving

My youngest daughter is leaving Sunday for a year in Israel. I just can't stop crying. I try not to cry in front of her but I can't help it. It's going to be a disaster Sunday at the airport. We are very close and it's going to be hard for her as well she has never been away from home. How can I pull myself together so I don't break down in front of her at the airport? Any ideas

I say don't worry about breaking down! Your daughter will be nervous leaving too and it might comfort her. Just try and restrict yourself to being sad - whatever you do don't be negative about her leaving, ask her not to go or make her feel guilty. It's part of our role as parents to let them go. Just cry and say you'll miss her but do also say how proud you are of her and how brave she's being etc On a practical note you can stay in contact with Skype and phone/email and go visit! Good luck!
