Help got an event tonight and the dresscode is 'informal not casual' what does that mean???

That is one of the strangest dress codes Ive heard of!

Hmm. I would do a smartish dress, the kind of thing that I would wear to a work evening event. So smart but not formal. The female equivilant of smart trousers and shirt perhaps.
What kind of event is it??

I'm thinking relaxed but no jeans. Monsoon, not East?

What event is it that you are going to?

flippityflip · 18/08/2016 17:54

Something through dh's work, dinner, he thinks a bbq but isn't sure Confused

somewhere between suits and jeans I'd say

Justmuddlingalong · 18/08/2016 17:56

I totally ignore dress codes. They are ambiguous and pointless.

flippityflip · 18/08/2016 18:30

Generally I'd do likewise but as dh not sure what the event actually is it's hard to decide what to wear to it.Going to go with smart trousers heels and a plainish top and hope for the best, either that or a cocktail dress and wellies Hmm

Informal is no suits, not a cocktail or evening dress.
Not casual is no jeans, shorts, leggings, t shirts etc.
So if go with a nice dress or nice separates.
