Moving from Scotland to St Austell

Hi, new to this but desperate for advice! my family are moving to St Austell in the next 2 months and the search is on to find somewhere to rent. I was thinking about living near the town centre as my son, who is a young adult enjoys nights out etc. I though this would help him meet new friends to help him settle etc. Would you recommend living near the shops? Is it quite quiet or rowdy in that area? Is there nice areas to walk our German Shephard dog? Any help would be much appreciated Grin

St Austell is actually quite quiet in general and you'll have plenty of lovely, scenic walks with your dog. You also have the famous Eden Project there which will be good for you son should he ever want to see any bands on there.
It's a great place to live, and I would recommend anywhere you can afford!

I would think more outskirts to be honest. St austell is a horrible place.

Oh my auntie moved from Scotland to Looe! She lived in Looe for a few years but then moved to the outskirts. Tourist places are nice to visit or live near but not in imo.

Well we moved down and I fell I love with the place. The property we rented had a severe hidden black mold problem so had no choice but to come back a we couldn't afford laying down a further deposit etc (long story) I am absolutely gutted. I felt like my hubby never really gave it a go and was too quick in deciding to come back to Scotland. Hate being stuck in doors but hate going out when it's cold and damp. Everyday bar 1 was just beautiful sunny warm days....heartbroken! :( thanks for your advice everyone. We ended up in Polruan...just stunning!
